Piney Point Beach

by carbonboy on September 24, 2017

Ha – I’ve been home a week and have yet to take a walk on my beach. It is still too hot and humid to enjoy it. October is the only perfect month in Piney Point, Maryland, and I am looking forward to it.

It’s a free lunch, a free ride. But nature’s got rules, and nature’s got laws. And if you cross her look out! It’s the monkey’s paw. I drove twelve hours today, with lots of pit-stops to handle the fatigue. I was hoping to report this was my first cross-county trip without seeing any road-side accidents […]

Well, my observation of a year ago still applies – Arkansas has the worst roads in the country, and if one thinks humidity is humidity, regardless of where it is, one is wrong – it’s worse in Arkansas. Nothing against the good folks living there, but this is the quintessential flyover state!   It’s day-three […]

From Gallup, New Mexico to the Flyover States

Day-2 was ten solid hours of driving, and no particular fun. Nothing to report, except a good authentic dinner at Abuelita Rosa’s Mexican Restaurant in Shawnee, Oklahoma, our stop for the night. The real tedium begins tomorrow. One question – who or what makes these vehicles? I want one, and want to move to Enchanted […]

Get your Kicks on Route 66

by carbonboy on September 14, 2017

We left the suburban wasteland of Eastvale at 7 a.m., which was too late, as we already had to fight traffic on I-15 at the 60 Freeway, I-10 and I-210 exchanges. A bit of stress was relieved when at the steepest part of the El Cajon Pass, the BMW handled the load of the U-Haul […]

On the Road Again

by carbonboy on September 13, 2017

Well, the Chinese Investors at Mooney International pissed away about fifty million dollars on the ill-fated M10, but I had a very good year, and had my vision restored to 20/20 by one of the best eye surgeons at UCLA. I don’t want to leave, but it is a perfect time to move on. Back […]

Leaving the Suburban Wasteland

by carbonboy on September 5, 2017

I can’t imagine why Eastvale, CA was voted the best city to live in California. There’s no community here – no kids in the streets, and the only time you talk to your neighbors is if, by chance, you are taking out your three (garbage, yard & recyclable) waste bins out for Friday pickup. I’d […]

Advice Heeded

I am rewriting our business plan today and picked up an old book by Hugh MacLeod titled: Ignore Everyone – And 39 Other Keys for Creativity. He summed the book up quite nicely!
