A Noneventful Weekend at Potomac Beach

Just before heading back to Blacksburg, I took out the trash, and this it what I saw!

I read somewhere about super-commuters – idiots that fly, train or drive insanely long distances to get from home to their dream jobs. Idiots all in spite of their lame justifications (perhaps it works if you are a millionaire). I guess that I am one of them.

I drove home this weekend to pick up the mail, check on the house and take out the kayak. I don’t know if it is worth it.  I have a long daily commute, and on top of that, a five hour drive just to get home on the weekends.

It’s nuts the things we do for the almighty dollar. But this is a means to an end. So maybe six months more.

I’ll say this, it is nice having two homes. It has been my routine since 2002 and likely will not end until I retire. My skillset is in demand all over the world – I just have to show up wherever that may be. I still want to travel to India in 2014.

Until then, I really have nothing to complain about – except all the driving!
