Autumn in Appalachia

So I made this return trip for decades, generally from Wisconsin when visiting my mom and family. But of late the drive was from deeper in the Midwest. Day 1 to Indianapolis; Day 2 home.

But driving 11.5 and then 10.5 hours takes its toll. I always take a break at a beautiful rest stop a few miles short of Morgantown, West Virginia, and decide if I want to endure the last 4.5 through the DC beltway.

Lately, at the rest stop, I hike a bit and log onto my Marriott App and book a room with a comfortable Jacuzzi tub, and in ten minutes, I am checked in.

Generally I trudge on through and end up happy to sleep in my bed that night.
