Busy Weekend – Tampa > Baltimore > Philly > Piney Point > Baltimore > Tampa

Just after Sunset in Tampa

It’s hard to believe that I have been in Tampa for about four weeks. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t even made it to the beach yet. Unfortunately I have some unfinished business elsewhere: moving out of my apartment in Philly.

I was up at 5:00 a.m. to catch a flight from Tampa to Baltimore. I managed to get a business class upgrade which included Gogo wireless Internet on the flight – it’s about time wifi is available in the air again.  In fact I’m writing this post at 40,000 feet as we fly over Georgia.

I’ve always preferred AirTran over the dreaded big players: United, America, Delta and (ugh) US Air. Of course Virgin America is still my favorite domestic airline. Too bad Southwest bought AirTran and will, in time, take out their business class seats and eliminate assigned seats altogether (I hate SWA).

From BWI, I will rent a SUV and make the two hour I-95 drive Philadelphia. I’ll pickup (for the last time) a great Philly hoagie, pack up and load my remaining stuff at the apartment, and have a relaxing last evening in Philly.  Saturday morning I’ll do a final cleanup, turn in my keys and pay a $500 early lease termination fee (not so bad as my client paid for it).

Early Saturday morning I’ll be heading to Piney Point, MD. Then unpack all the stuff and have a relaxing evening at home (with a schedule like this, relaxing evenings are essential).  Sunday is set aside to organize the house. Finally I drive back to BWI and catch a 9:30 p.m. flight back to Tampa. The flight is nearly empty, but I opted for the upgrade anyway.

I hope to be in bed back in my new temporary Tampa home by midnight. It all sounds like a lot of work, but so far I am enjoying this little mini-journey!
