Day 2 – Zanesville, Ohio to Lincoln, Nebraska

Somewhere in Iowa off of I-80

The rain finally stopped after reaching Indianapolis and blue sky could be seen in the West. From I-70 I headed north on I-74 to intersect the main east-west corridor of the country: Interstate 80. The drive became much more pleasant from that point on. I crossed the Mississippi River at 4:33 p.m. I arrived at my hotel at 9:45 p.m., just in time to grab some Mexican food before the city shut down for the night.

Tomorrow the open road to Salt Lake City – 13 hours of driving! Oddly I have seen no strange looks from fellow travelers gawking at that large black box on my bimmer. It, and the car are holding up well, but my gas tank gauge thinks it is attached to a Hummer.
