Dreaming of the Warm and the Exotic

So where was I when I took this photo; Japan, Korea, Italy, the Netherlands? I don’t recall, but my camera does!

We had a weekend of relief here in the Great Plains of the US, with more bitter cold on the horizon. I completed the longest and most difficult week working with my client; success for this phase of the project seems closer to the inevitable – yet this is one phase of many.

I am better understanding the Midwest’s obsession with sports, as there is little else to do this time of year. I did enjoy seeing the Green Bay Packers squeak to victory over Dallas. Next week in Seattle should prove most exciting!

Outdoor life here consists of moving from my dwelling to my car and then to another dwelling – and then reversing the process. I clearly would not have survived this environment at an earlier time in US history.

They say one can only live in the moment, and I generally subscribe to that view. Yet for 2015 I am thinking more of the months ahead – with planned trips to a warm and sunny Spain and Morocco, and likely travels to India and China.

Warm and exotic is what I need! Until then, I will make the best of it.

  1. Knowing that you passed through St. Louis I thought you might have stopped in the Botanical Gardens.

  2. Must be St. Louis!

    1. Nope – turns out it was Redondo Beach – but it was at least warm!
