Nikon’s Triple Crown (minus one)

Two of Three Ain’t Bad: D600 with Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G and 14-24mm f/2.8G

I’ve been gone for a time – but back and renewed after some extended work and play at home. I ended May with a solid week in Piney Point, organizing what has become a warehouse back into a comfortable dwelling. I reclaimed my 2nd bedroom and most of my back porch.

Now I’m back at my undisclosed location in the middle of nowhere!

I picked up a few new toys while home: two super-fast Nikkor Lenses and two Manfrotto Tripod Heads – one for still and the other video.

Do I need this stuff? Well no, but these are for R&D. I’m prototyping some CFRP brackets to make handling this massive gear less of a burden.

But it is fair to say that Nikon’s Triple Crown of super-fast pro lenses has always been on my wish list! Now if you see any bad photos here in the future, it’s the fault of the photographer, not the camera!

So to test these prototypes, I’m planning a few road trips this summer with a three day stop at Rocky Mountain National Park over the Fourth of July Weekend (likely the worst time to visit, but it’s the only time I got). And yes, a trip to Wisconsin to visit family and friends is coming as well.
