Snowed In on the Seneca Trail

If your auto is going to be clobbered with snow – your driveway is about the best place for it!

We are fortunate here up in the higher elevations, as we got well over a foot of light fluffy snow with little wind – none of the ice or heavy snow that is wreaking havoc further south. Fortunate really as we have power!

I was able to sleep in, have a hearty oatmeal, pecan and blueberry breakfast with strong hot coffee and dark chocolate. Then simply ponder a blissful day with having to go nowhere.

I have simple tasks planned for the day – software and app updates, a dumbbell workout and then a seafood omelet for brunch.

Winter on the Seneca TrailMy backyard view!

The snow is forecast to continue until late in the afternoon, at which time I will contemplate how to dig out. The driveway is gravel and fortunately downhill. After a little outdoor workout, an early dinner with a few glasses of red wine and a classic movie seems in order. The only things that are missing are a warm fireplace and my sweetheart. But I’ll manage somehow.

I expect by tomorrow that roads will be passible. I’ll head north and spend the morning with my client to complete a few tasks. By midafternoon I’ll start the journey back to Piney Point, which because of the warm waters of the Chesapeake, was spared any snow at all.

Warmer weather is on the horizon. Perhaps this is the last of winter?
