Stuck in the Fog

Reagan National 4:29 a.m., January 20, 2013

I discovered that airport security does not open up the terminals at DCA until 4:30 a.m., which means that I could have slept in for another 15 minutes. I was the first one through!  Also that flights that leave at 6:00 a.m. aren’t stuffed to capacity and 1st Class Upgrades come easy. Wish I was a morning person.

And who would think that Houston gets fogged-in in the winter time (I thought it was always miserably hot & humid). We arrived early only to have my connecting flight to Querétaro delayed twice.  The fog has not lifted but flights are coming and going – just 2-3 hours late. I guess it could be worse as I could be in the Northeast in a monster blizzard and stuck for days.

One can’t even buy a beer before noon on a Sunday at the airport. I guess we are all suppose to be in church between flights here in the Republic of Texas.

I tell you this, I’m damn sick of traveling and cannot wait to return to a normal life. I’ll get over it!
