The Bohemian Hotel Savannah Riverfront

I’m a bit beyond the halfway point to Tampa Bay, staying tonight at the Bohemian Hotel in Savannah. Oh I miss this city! Crazy, and clearly geared more for the young, at least on a steamy Saturday evening. The rooftop bar is a hotspot here; locals waiting in a rather long line to get up in the public elevator.

I, as a guest, simply insert my card to gain access via private elevator. It’s amazing to see all these young woman clad only in a thin wrap of a dress, spiky high heels, and most with too much makeup. What are they looking for here? Not possibly a mate.

Exhausted after the long drive from Piney Point, and the move from Philly the day before, I opt for room service – a perfect crab cake and spicy shrimp dumplings. After a shower, I head up to the rooftop club, as a hotel guest, for a few drinks at the bar. There’s no harm in just looking at all these delightful lost souls dancing the night away.

And just as tantalizing, while being on the outdoor rooftop of the hottest spot in Savannah, was to watch an incredible thunderstorm roll in over the river. The stunning display spoiled the night for some, but made my day, or night so to speak.

Wake-up call is five a.m., as I’ll try a shot of some sunrise HDR in my favorite place in the South. If it is overcast I’ll just sleep in and have a “best-in-the-city” Sunday Brunch.

No matter, as tomorrow I will be in Tampa Bay again. Meanwhile I am just taking it all in – back in the City of the Garden of Good and Evil!
