The holiday tourists have left Santa Cruz and are likely are fighting traffic regardless of destination.
I drove north and stopped at a roadside stand and picked up some organic cherries, Brussel sprouts and carrots. Then added some shrimp grilled in soy & ginger. Simplicity at its best.
