Nothing Changes New Year’s Day

My time at home was glorious, in spite of the fact that I accomplished a faction of the things that I task myself to do. On my way back to Blacksburg I had a planned stop at an Apple Store in Richmond to pick up a Lightning-to-30-Pin-Adaptor so I could use my new iPhone with some of the stuff I connected with my old iPhone. The one I bought on Amazon for a $1.28 was a piece of junk (go figure).

As I am not a big Apple fan, this was my first ever stop at an Apple Store. It was filled with kids playing with the in-house toys and buying little. Yet the greeter hooked me up with a sales kid, and I had the adaptor paid for within 3 minutes. He swiped my credit card on a tiny adapted iPhone device and emailed me the receipt.

So reflecting on 2013, it was a record year in terms of income and investment. Yet I am so glad that miserable year is over. Never will I work so hard again. It’s hard to believe a year ago I was still in Mexico and would not return to the US until last May.

2014 looks to start the same, but a meaningful life is in the works – finally! That’s all I got for the new year. Except it does feel good to be back in Blacksburg with all the students still away on holiday.
